treat you to diverse scenery and history on this spectacular
one-day Grand Canyon
tour. Begin with a fully-narrated tour of the Arizona Sonoran Desert on the
way to your first stop of the day -- Sedona's colorful Red Rock country.
You'll have time for a coffee break and a chance to get some photos
of this fantastic area. Next, travel through scenic Oak Creek
Canyon and then across the vast Navajo Indian Reservation.
You'll make a stop on the reservation at the Cameron Trading Post
(with the Painted Desert as your backdrop) to shop for beautiful
Native American jewelry and crafts. Your early lunch stop will also
be here -- try the Navajo Taco or some delicious Fry Bread!
Next,
drink in
the boundless wonders of the Grand Canyon from our favorite overlooks
along the rim drive and
take a short nature walk at your leisure. Stops will be made along the

Our one-day Grand Canyon trip
including the historic Grand Canyon Railway is an Open Road
exclusive! Depart early morning for a trip through the Sonoran
Desert on the way to Williams, Arizona. Situated on
historic Route 66, Williams is the departure point for the Grand
Canyon Railway. This historic and scenic trip includes views of
broad plains and mountains along the way. You’ll arrive at Grand
Canyon approximately noon and have time to enjoy the
breathtaking views and lunch (on own.) Later, we’ll take you by bus
to Mather Viewpoint for photo opportunities and to learn
about the history and geology of Grand Canyon. Return to Phoenix

Montezuma's Castle, one of the best preserved prehistoric Indian cliff
dwellings in North America. Next, it's on to the beautiful Sedona area with
a visit to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, set between two huge red
sandstones. You'll then travel into the heart of Red Rock country in uptown
Sedona to spend time browsing the
many galleries and shops and have a bite to eat at one of many wonderful
restaurants or cafes. Many people think Sedona is just as beautiful --
if not more so -- than the
Grand Canyon -- join us to see why! Return to the Valley between approximately

Travel Arizona's scenic Apache Trail at the base of the
legendary Superstition Mountains. Visit Goldfield Ghost Town where tales of
gold abound! Gold was first struck here in 1892. Next, it's time for a relaxing steamboat
cruise on one of Arizona's most beautiful desert lakes -- Canyon Lake*.
Your cruise aboard the Dolly Steamboat will give you a chance to catch a
glimpse of big horn sheep and bald eagles as well as learn about the Apaches
from your boat captain. After your cruise, enjoy a stop at the
"bustling" town of Tortilla Flat (population 6). This small Arizona town is
the last surviving stagecoach stop along the Apache Trail. A lunch
stop will be made at either Canyon Lake Marina or Tortilla Flat.

Join us for a trip to some of the best know
mountains in Arizona's Valley of the Sun -- the Superstitions! Start off
with a stop at Goldfield Ghost Town, the gateway to the Superstition
Mountains. Gold was found here in 1892, and Goldfield quickly became a
bustling town of 4,000 people before the mine's gold veins faulted and the
town slowly died in the early 1900's. Next, enjoy a two-hour jeep tour into
the foothills of the Superstitions. You'll see massive rock formations, a
variety of cacti and wildlife native to the area. Learn about these
legendary mountains and the mystery surrounding the Lost Dutchman's Gold
Mine from an overlook of Weaver's Needle. The day will also feature a
stop in Tortilla Flat (population 6!), a historic stop along the legendary
Apache Trail, plus time for lunch (on your own) with beautiful views of the

exhibits on the train's history. Your four-hour round-trip train ride
will bring you through panoramic Verde
River Canyon, which is only accessible only by train. The colorful desert
